Full Moon Sound Meditation

Seize the opportunity to ground yourself and go within. Full Moons act as a marker in this hectic world; allowing us to stop the hustle for a moment, take a breath and focus and adjust our perspectives, intentions and actions.

Full Moon and New Moons have powerful effects on the tides and also on the ‘tides’ of fluids in our bodies, including our blood serum, lymphatic fluids, cerebrospinal fluids (brain & spinal column) and the cytoplasm of every cell within our being. Doors will open at 7.00 pm to settle into the space and tune into your own intention for your session. Feel free to message for more information or go here: http://www.rogergong.com/classes

The venue is modern and spacious. It's a stone floor so please bring blankets, bolsters, pillows etc. Err on extra comfort. Blankets to lie on as well as under. Foam or even blow-up mattress are a great addition for maximum coziness.

Suggested Donation is £16 early-bird. This will go to £20 once the early-bird allocation is full. There will be a grounding snack and Roger's world-famous ginger tea provided.

You can secure your place here: http://www.rogergong.com/classes

Prepayment essential.

CLAY CLUB - learn to slab build - clay workshop

n this 2.5 hour clay workshop you will learn to hand build ceramics using a slab building technique. No previous experience required. The ticket price includes all firing costs as well as a glass of fizz (both alcholic and non alcholic available) but also feel free to bring your own refreshments if you prefer.

You will be shown the basic technique to make your very own slab built pot in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and guided through the possibilities that are available to you. Beci will provide inspiration as well as instructions. You will then create gorgeous vessel(s) that you will be able to use in your home as vases plant pots, mugs etc.

The process will be as follows:

Step 1

There will be a short demo to show you the basic technique of slab building as well as being able to see physical examples of what you can create using the slab building method.

Step 2

You will be given a ball of clay that you can divide up/ shape as you wish. There will be no limit to the number of items that you make with your ball of clay so if you'd rather make lots of tiny pieces then you are more than welcome to.

Step 3

You will shape and smooth the clay in anyway you would like and then give it a blast with a hairdryer/heatgun so its ready for the next step which is.....

Step 4

DECORATION, surely the best bit?! There will be a selection of coloured slips (coloured liquid clay) that you will be able to use to decorate your creations. Don't worry if your struggling for ideas there will be lots of inspiration on hand. The great thing about slips is that you can decorate your pot before it goes into the kiln (this means the whole piece will be created in one session)

Step 5

I will then glaze the piece for you from my workshop in Wakering, this will give your pot a lovely shiny finish and means that you will be able to use it to hold water or food. Your vessel will then be delivered to you either by hand or if you live outside of Southend you will be able to pick them up, or have them delivered by post (a small fee will be applicable if you would like your piece to be posted)

The session is designed to be relaxed and fun and you will enjoy getting your hands dirty whilst creating unique pieces for your home. No previous experience is required and the group sizes will be small (just 8-10 people) which means that you'll get plenty of help if you need/want it.

The Sausage Dog Cafe - 2! 2nd September!

The Sausage Dog Cafe returns to The Transition Chelmsford!

After an overwhelming response to our sold out first event on the 3rd June, which received coverage from Essex Live, BBC Radio, The Chronicle & BBC News, were already planning the next event!

We are so excited to be hosting a second event!! I never thought the first would pick up in the way it did, so to do a second is amazing!!

The wonderful Transition have trusted us with their space again too!!

Tickets are not yet for sale - I will be listing them early next week.

Please note that the event will be ticket entry only (I am currently researching the idea of printed tickets to keep it simple!) and there will not be any entry permitted on the day without prior booking.

If you are interested in having a stall please email me - I am limited to 10, so am gathering as much info as possible for those interested before making decisions on what stalls will be at the event, and like the first event will be avoiding cross overs of more than one stall selling the same thing, simply because we cannot have too many to begin with so want as much variety as possible!

Interest has picked up massively with all of the press releases; please remember to email me at sausage_dog_cafe@hotmail.com if you want priority booking - you’ll get an email 24hrs before the spaces go ‘live’ giving you a head start on booking a slot! (Please note, this doesn’t guarantee you a space, but gives you more chance before it sells out!) - due to the interest I will need payments sooner than last time, as I was still chasing some just days before the event yesterday & don’t want people missing out!

Thank you, and I hope you can join us on 2nd September!! xoxo

Stand Up For Diversity

You are invited to join us for Sunday Brunch and a series of short soap-box shout-outs on why DIVERSITY MATTERS. Hear three-minute mini-talks followed by a chance to chat over drinks and nibbles.

Hosted by Essex Book Festival and Essex Cultural Diversity Project, this event brings together people who want to champion and celebrate diversity in the arts and in our communities, and promote the work they do.

Come along to make new connections, find out more about what’s in your area, promote your own projects, and collectively celebrate diverse voices involved in the arts today.

OPEN MIC: Come along to meet and listen to others – or give your own three-minute mini-talk. Let us know in advance if you’d like a platform to share your work, and if there is a slot available we’ll see if we can fit you in.
